8-bit punk duo MidiMidis release their new single ”The Despondent/It’s Difficult’ on May 2nd and play Club NME Koko tonight (Fri 15 April). Listen to the rather smart electro track ‘The Despondent’ with it’s suggestive yet ultimately alieniated lyrics and twtchy beat, below.

MidiMidis are two tuneful brothers-in-law gifted with an 8-bit view of the world. Imagine the Strokes in Tron. A very successful 2010 was capped off by signing to the mighty BMG Chrysalis, and saw performances at The Big Chill and the Reading & Leeds Festivals. They were also special guests of Losers at Latitude, Lovebox, & Secret Garden Party, and opened for Suede at Bush Hall. National coverage has come from Q Magazine, Artrocker, The Fly, NME, Metro, The Word, and Playstation Magazine to name a few. At radio, Huw Stephens has supported everything so far (also making them ‘No1’ track on his show), with XFM’s Eddy Temple-Morris making them ‘Track of the Week’ three times. MidiMidis also recorded a BBC live session at Maida Vale. MidiMidis currently work on their debut album, and release a Double A-side on May 2nd
