Introducing: New Music on GIITTV

god is in the tv zine logoDespite the current sunshine, here at God Is in the TV we’ve gone underground. Our metaphorical back garden has become swamped with recommendations, and some lesser known musicians have been pushed into the basement.

Thankfully the God in the TV realised this, and sent a team of writers down to the depths to recover our bounty. From these shady caverns we’ve shaped a regular column, designed to introduce you readers to the best new music out there.

This will sound very familiar. Most webzines and blogs feature unsigned and unpromoted acts, but unlike the majority, we’re not into one night stands. We’ll introduce these new acts to you via Preaching From the Pews, a daily column dedicated to band biographies and ramblings from the masses. Then – to prove our worth – we’ll cut those acts down to five semi-finalists, who we’ll interview to give a little more depth. Then – while you’re still basking in glorious exposure – we’ll announce one final winner, purveyor of the good sounds, kindred spirit of taste and general demi-God of the instruments. We’ll champion that musician by feature and review until we go blue in the face/you listen. Either/or, that part’s up to you.

Preaching From the Pews is already in full swing; our current selection can be viewed over here. Our first round of semi-finalists will be announced shortly.

God is in the TV is an online music and culture fanzine founded in Cardiff by the editor Bill Cummings in 2003. GIITTV Bill has developed the site with the aid of a team of sub-editors and writers from across Britain, covering a wide range of music from unsigned and independent artists to major releases.
