Summer Sundae Weekender have added the wonderful Warpaint to their line up for the Leicester based festival.

Any music enthusiast will be aware of the stir that Warpaint, the all-female psyc-rock quartet from LA have been causing across the globe, so it is with great pleasure that we announce their guest slot on our 2011 Drowned in Sound Stage. Having received a plethora of rave reviews not only for their debut album “The Fool,” but also for their UK tour which ends Wednesday 25th May with a sold out gig at London’s HMV Forum, we are offering our lucky festivalgoers the opportunity to be seduced by what will assuredly be a mesmeric performance from these enigmatic hipsters.
Having held the finals for the Musician’s Stage Original Band Showcase last weekend we are delighted to announce this year’s winners; on Friday the highly innovative Citizen Smith will be taking to the stage, Saturday will see a performance by psychedelic maestros The Rassoodocks and finally on Sunday the super talented 18 year old singer/ songwriter Jack Kenworthy will be performing.
Furthermore this year Summer Sundae Weekender are raising the bar; for the first time in the festival’s history we are extending our entertainment agenda to include a fourth night of fun on Thursday 11th August at Leicester’s O2 Academy. Doors will open at 9.30pm to kick off the action and here you’ll find 3 whole rooms of bands and DJ’s including Radio 1’s Jaymo & Andy George as well as live performances from 80s inspired electro band Fenech-Soler, and deep disco divas Polarsets, plus more to be announced. The night will wrap up at 2am, so those heading to the Fringe Festival will be able to carry on the party afterwards. Fringe coaches will be making drop offs outside of the Academy as well as the main campsite in Victoria Park. For the convenience of festival campers we have opened up access between the Victoria Park campsite and the O2 Academy for the night of Thursday 11th August.

Tickets cost £10.00 in advance and entrance is strictly 18 years and over. Tickets are on sale now from the o2 Academy’s box office 0844 477 2000 or visit www.summersundae.com
