The Heartbreaks support Morrissey

GIITTV’s favourite swooning indie types The Heartbreaks of Manchester have announced that they will be playing some dates with Morrissey, one in Leeds before heading off to Europe with the former Smiths legend. Here’s what the lads said in a email:

We may as well make this official before John Hemming tells everyone*… The Heartbreaks are supporting Morrissey on tour.

Together, we’ll be playing Leeds Academy on July 7th, before hotfooting it over to Denmark and Sweden for:

11th July Copenhagen Opera House with Morrissey Copenhagen, Denmark

13th July Voxhall with Morrissey Aarhus, Denmark

14th July Folkets Park with Morrissey Ornskoldsvik, Sweden

16th July Hultsfred Festival with Morrissey Hultsfred, Sweden

Keep an eye out for a Berlin date with Morrissey (tbc).

As some of the keener Heartbreaks watchers will know, this will be our first trip to Scandinavia, and to honour the occasion we shall be reworking our Top 500 hit ‘Liar, My Dear’ into Swedish. Working title, ‘Ikea, My Dear’…**

We then have the following coming up over the summer:

17th July Latitude Festival Southwold, UK

13th August Summer Sundae Festival Leicester, UK

If all of that is too long to wait then get yourself to one of the following next week:

1st June Moles Club Bath, UK

3rd June The Soundhouse Leicester, UK

4th June Spanky Van Dykes Nottingham, UK

Watch this space for more festival news and some pretty amazing (can’t announce yet) dates around UK & Europe in Autumn.

I wish we could play you the album now, it’s a world beater.

In the meantime, keep fighting those super-injunctions and don’t be a jerk, just enjoy your sport,

The Heartbreaks

* Top drawer satire… Imagine Bremner, Bird and Fortune doing it.

** There’s more where that came from, lads and lasses.
