Post punk group, Scumbag Philosopher released their second single, the amusingly titled “God is Dead so I listen to Radiohead’ last week, watch the video below. Scumbag… have been selected to play two shows with Mark E. Smith’s The Fall, the first tomorrow June 1 at Koko, the second at Manchester’s Moho-Live on the 3rd June. To Celebrate we’ve been given a PAIR of tickets to give away for the Manchester show featuring legends The Fall and their Scumbag…support. Scumbag Philosopher formerly F*ck Dress’ new single was Re-produced and re-mixed by Phil Vinall (Placebo, Pulp, Elastica, Victorian English Gentle Dead Is Dead So I Listen To Radiohead’ is the second single taken from their forthcoming albu So It Means Nothing’. The track is about the kind of neurotic boy outsider (aka suburban Niet looking for something a bit deeper in life. Without actually knowing anything about them (apart from quotes) he ends up attaching himself to the groovier (and gloomier) sounding philosophers (Ni example) and to the bands and musicians that reference them.

The original version of their first single ‘Suburban Nietzsche Freak’ was released on 7’’ vinyl on mid-2008 and was championed by the likes of Rob Da Bank, Tom Robinson, John Kennedy (6Music) with a significant amount of bloggers buzzing about them. The single charted on Spanish and national radio charts plus received worldwide airplay including Sweden, Germany, New Z with it selling out within weeks of release. Scumbag Philosopher’s recently released eponymous album received support from John Kennedy and Stuart Maconie with Artrocker Radio play upcoming album tracks on Resonance FM.

New live dates have been announced including 2 exclusive shows with iconic British post-punk place at London’s Koko on the 1st June and Manchester’s Moho-Live on the 3rd June. Scumba also been added to this year’s Glade Festival and dates for their ‘It Means Nothing So It Means So It Tour’.
