Preaching From the Pews: Life in Film

LifeinFilmThe sun has finally broken through the clouds of June and July and to compliment the flip-flops and sun cream God is in the TV has a summery new sound to introduce you to; Life in Film.

With a spring-in-their-step style of pop which is tinged with everything from country to calypso Life in Film jump out as having immediately distinguished there style and intentions. Aside from a vocal sound-a-like to Kings of Leon’s Caleb Followill this band are fresh and vibrant and spot-on in terms of catch-factor.

Despite emerging some two or three years ago and gaining attention from BBC Introducing and being picked up by Burberry’s creative director Christopher Bailey, the band are yet to be snapped up by a label (although are reportedly in tight-lipped talks), but 2011/2012 is shaping up to be the time Life in Film break through for good.

Their music feels ready-made for a sun-glazed festival stage and this summer they’ll be gracing a handful of smaller, boutique events such as Lodestar in Cambridge and Ignition in Newcastle. In addition to that Life in Film are headlining at Cargo in London on 5th October. They’ll also be heading off on tour in support of The Rifles in the Autumn.
