MIXTAPE: Gwyl Swigen Festival, Cardiff feat Derrero, Howl Griff, Meilir, Golden Fable, Molly Zacharias and many more!

It’s going to be a BUSY one in Cardiff this coming weekend not only is SWN festival happening accross various venues in this fair city(more on which to come) featuring over one hundred and eighty acts, plus the Fall, there’s also a new event taking place. Entitled Gŵyl SWIGEN Festival it’s All day event, this coming Saturday 22nd of October at Capel Ebenezer, Cardiff!

 Some of the potential highlights on the day include organiser/performer Meilir, hotly tipped act Golden Fable who recently performed a session for Radio One,  6music approved headliners psych pop act Howl Griff and last, but no means least, members of Derrero who are playing their first Cardiff gig at SWIGEN in ten years!!!   The cafe stage will see performances from artists on the main stage, plus the likes of local boy Ceri Frost, North Walian indie rockers the Scene, theatrical popster Kai Lena, and Molly Zacharias whose recent two eps are causing a stir in the city, as well as other suprise open mic appearances!

SWIGEN tickets are now available via email reservation to [email protected] and at Spillers Records, Cardiff. They retail at £5 (unwaged / advance / discount).

  Saturday 22nd October 2011 sees the inaugural all-day live music event organised & hosted by the Cardiff-based creative arts collective SWIGEN (South Wales Independent Gigs, Events & Networking) — or, ‘Bubble’ in Welsh.

Gŵyl SWIGEN Festival, in aid of Shelter Cymru & Oxjam Cardiff, will take place in the beautiful Grade II listed Ebenezer Chapel, situated on Charles Street in the heart of Cardiff (info & map), & will showcase 25+ Welsh or Wales-based artists/bands performing on 2 stages. The main-stage will feature a delightfully eclectic line up of laptop pop, folktronica, chillwave, burnt-out indie pop, Broadway-style indie-folk, psychedelic folk rock, avant garde noiseniks & doom rock. The second Café stage will feature solo & acoustic artists, as well as open mic slots (with a small donation) for any local musicians who’d like to perform throughout the day.

Fundraising will take place in the form of the cover charge, a raffle for a very special prize, donations to sanctioned collectors, & through sales of hot/cold food & beverages.
Doors = Midday – 11pm (last band).
Admission = £6 (waged), £5 (unwaged / advance / discount).

Audience members may leave & re-enter the venue as often as they please until curfew @ 10pm
