Cold In Berlin’s Guide to Doom

CiB 1

London based No Wave/Punk whirlwind Cold In Berlin’s new AA single ‘…And The Darkness Bangs’ / ‘The Lie’ is released 5th March 2012 on 2076 Records. It was recorded in a formal Mental Health Hospital in South East London; next to a cemetery/backing onto the woods – so it was a creepy atmosphere which adds to the tracks.Buried deep in South East London it straddled a nearby Cemetery and in a desolate site that was only occupied by squawking Ravens and the deeps woods that surrounded it they enlisted the help of producer James Aparicio (whose credits include Depeche Mode, Spiritualized, Grinderman and Liars) who helped sharpen their already visceral sound. The new single is the follow up to their highly successful debut album ‘Give Me Walls’ of last year, and their been and their sound is apparently “like Siouxsie Sioux smacking you in the face with a Mudhoney Record.”
