Fancy a sultry slice of feminine disco pop to help aid your frollicks on this sunny day?! Well Nottingham based Ronika’s new single, ‘Automatic’ released on April the 9th is the perfect soundtrack to it. Stream it below. It’s follow-up to her acclaimed ‘Only Only / In The City’ EP.It’s inspired by the groove-driven sounds of Prince or Daft Punk, together with the early hip-hop strut of Tom Tom Club (or even Blondie’s ‘Rapture’)

Ronika has won extensive support for her revisionist twist on classic disco. She started out writing soul tunes inspired by Curtis Mayfield on an acoustic guitar, and went to her first techno all-nighter at the age of 14. ‘Automatic’ was written in Ronika’s hometown of Nottingham A rammed-out set at the legendary Webster Hall rounded off a breakthrough six months for this “Madonna of the Midlands” (Electronic Rumours).

Collaborations for Ronika’s own output and other TBA projects are ongoing with the likes of Hervé, Pascal Gabriel (Ladyhawke, Little Boots), Javelin, Dimitri Tikovoi (Nicola Roberts) and MNEK.
