Leeds’ CAVE BIRDS are apparently “Equipped for Bond themes and cinematic car chases, its an all-action example of big ambition…”. Their crafty recent single ‘In Love From Afar’ that came out on This Is Fake DIY in June reinforces this notion. It’s bubbling disco sound exhibits the kind of grand widescreen-noir-pop sound that harks back to the likes of New Order and a smidge of early Pulp.The fantastic jiving, expansive earworm of a chorus carried aloft on a sea of falscettos and strident synths: wonderfully encapsulates that feeling of unrequited affection.
