Preaching From The Pews: The Dying Seconds

Dublin’s The Dying Seconds have been championed by purveyors of the heartfelt and honest, opulent and brooding – The National – who witnessed an early The Dying Seconds show in Dublin back in 2010. Little wonder when their fractured sound encompassing trembling multi-instrumentals, brittle electronic ripples and speared by broken vocals that swell with confessionals that shed brief seconds of light onto their bruised sub consciousnesses. It’s a sound rather like those perpetuated by early Meursault or long forgotten late 90s band Witness.Their debut album ‘Glimmerers’ that’s expansive sound: delves into yet more inventive influences the looping psych of Animal Collective and the aural dexterity of Aphex Twin, it was released to such critical acclaim in Ireland last year. Simultaneously, in the UK, The Dying Seconds released their debut single consisting of album tracks “Mora Minn” b/w “Kid Logic”.

The Dying Seconds have now re-located to London and set give ‘Glimmerers’ its official UK release on 10th September, preceded by the awesome single ‘Scars’ set for release 6th August watch the excellent video below.
