Playlounge to release debut 12″ EP & Support Johnny Foreigner

South London two-piece Playlounge are releasing their debut 12” EP ‘Thrash Magic’ (Fear & Records) on October 22. They head out in support of the record with a series of shows supporting Johnny Foreigner this October.

Playlounge play fiercely addictive noise pop and bill themselves as, “A little bit No Age, a little bit Rainer Maria and a little bit Lemonheads. It’s pretty much the most fun you will have heard in a while.” Certainly the rush of ‘Sweet Tooth’ is rather splendid in a Lo-fi Husker Du type way, it’s the first track to be taken from the EP which be available to download for free below.

“We were listening to a lot of Snowing and Rainer Maria whilst we wrote the songs,” said Sam and Laurie. “We’re super excited to be releasing this on Fear & Records because they’re awesome guys and because they manage and release some of our favourite bands: like it’s totally insane they even know who we are.”

The seven track EP was recorded by Dom James (Johhny Foreigner, Calories).

You can pre-order the record at http://bit.ly/playlounge – and anyone who pre-orders it will immediately receive the tracks as MP3s.
