younghearts

Younghearts (alt pop), French Crops (funkpunk), Bad Wolf (alt rock) (live) at the launch of ArtBeat at Amersham Arms in London on Thursday 27th September. The venue will have “A Night Out” every Thursday.

Younghearts, fronted by the enigmatic Joe Fox, are ready for the next step on, they make young hearts pump faster with poetic charm and chiming chords. Ideal to kick off live events at South East London’s key venue for seeing the next ones to watch (Toy are just one of the recent names to call in). With a new EP in the wings, and various new sessions in the bag, they’re ready to be seen.

French Crops – a new favourite of the twitterati @FrenchCrops and gainiing attention ahead of thei r ‘God Loves A Trier’ EP due for release at the end of the year. This is the preview show that kicks things off. Punk you can dance to is what’s spreading their word.

Bad Wolf are a hybrid of Smashing Pumpkins, Muse, My Chemical Romance, early Manic Street Preachers and on their more epic moments, Radiohead – according to the reivews. In short, hooks, anthem, crafted to great potential and performed engagingly. It works.

Seemed like a triple statement of intent to start things off and from that it looks like the 25th October bill is coming together nicely so this ArtBeat way of doing things may work.

Socialise – GigSlutz radio show on Optical Radio / in venue from 7pm, faces to faces mixer in the venue at 8pm. (Releasing? Bring great music for future shows/potential radio play (DJ Jean Genie also presents on Kooba Radio). Pose for pix at the venue with our photographer n get filmed by MTM.tv for the doc. Making The Music TV will be documenting the event, the vibe, the venue, the crowd. ) – various promoters etc scouting on the night too.

Ignite. This is the venue. “Amersham Arms play host to an array of upcoming acts” (Artrocker), “The area’s first destination club.” (New York Times), “The nexus of south-east London’s live music scene” (Time Out)

Opportunity: Future presenters and camera people sought by GigSlutz.

Started this kinda thing a couple of years agol Special Needs, Bloc Party, Art Brut, Hatcham Social and more “The CBGBs of SE14” (NME), . Creators and performances made future and now with DIY media to document, the next wave are ready to connect. ArtBeat pop up promo started last November and now goes live.

Enticed by MTM.tv’s prolific enthusiasm, irreverant style and sussed choices, got teamed up.
