VIDEO: Soap&Skin – Sugarbread

To conclude her recently released ‘Narrow’ mini-album and accompanying tour, Soap&Skin will release 3 new songs on the “Sugarbread” ep on 11 March 2013. The tracks “Sugarbread” and “Pray” have been part of the captivating live show since the beginning of the tour and the third is a cover of “Me And The Devil” originally by blues legend Robert Johnson, who Soap&Skin discovered through Gil Scott-Heron’s last and ultimate record, ‘I’m New Here’. To accompany the release Soap&Skin has released the frankly amazing video for the lead track watch it with your eyes and in disbelief here:

“He hands me a sugarbread, in the other hand he holds the whip ready.
Paradise is the last refuge: The Possible escapes and there is the impossible.
The repetition is the act of prayer. Amen”
