Bummer Album Of The Week: Stereophonics – ‘Graffiti On The Train’

I remember seeing Stereophonics open the main stage at Reading way back in ‘97 and thinking this was a band that would go far. Well they did of course and the first two albums were fine additions to the rock n roll archives. I think as soon as they opted to cover Rod Stewart, things started to get a little wobbly and here we are this week with album number eight, ‘Graffiti On The Train’. It’s another limp offering I’m afraid, with a collection of half-baked rock songs intertwined with a few soulless ballads. I will hang onto that memory, for it’s clear they will never release another good record – bummer album of the week.
