Bummer Album Of The Week: Deep Purple - Now What?!

Bummer Album Of The Week: Deep Purple – Now What?!

Deep Purple are, historically, a superb band. They released several classic albums back in the seventies and stand as one of the most influential British metal bands of all time. Ian Gillan was the definitive rock singer back then and he’s in the latest version of the band, along with two others from those heady days. The new album is called ‘Now What?!’ and is a bland collection of songs that would have struggled to get to a B side before. Bummer Album of the Week, I’m afraid.

[Rating:2]

  1. What did you think of Purpendicular from 1996 and Live at the Olympia from the same year? To me, the new one is about as good as the former.

According to Jon Lord, Purpendicular was one of the top 4 albums of Deep Purple. I assume he meant that the other three were In Rock, Fireball and Machinehead.

  2. You’re in a bit of a minority with this review – it’s generally been very well received

  3. I like to be the token misery! The new Black Sabbath album is ten times better, if you’re interested!
