Bummer Album Of The Week: Chapel Club – Good Together

My top album in 2011 was ‘Palace’ by Chapel Club; it remains an excellent album of post punk revival tunes very much in the Echo & The Bunnymen mould and flagged up a band who had the potential to be enormous. Since then, they’ve indicated intent to change their style and shift towards the swamp that is electronica. Well the second album, ‘Good Together’ is now out and represents an act of musical suicide. It’s highly unoriginal, uninspiring and uninteresting. Better than Daft Punk maybe, but that’s not a measure of quality. What a shame, what a waste, what a Bummer.
