Atoms for Peace team up with Soundhalo enabling fans to watch/download gigs as they happen

Following his outburst this week on the evils of Spotify earlier this week, Thom Yorke and his Atoms for Peace group have announced a tie up with new live music platform soundhalo. Thom Yorke and the band are enabling fans around the world to watch and download the gig, track by track as it happens, through soundhalo, a new platform that will aim to “bring high quality video and audio footage of live performances straight to your smartphone and desktop. The Atoms For Peace shows on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th July will be available to purchase, bringing the heart-pounding adrenaline and technical command of their performance to a global audience within seconds of each song’s final note.” Watch a teaser video here:

Here’s the spiel: “Between them, Radiohead lead singer Thom Yorke, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, drummer Joey Waronker and Brazilian percussionist Mauro Refosco have successfully been breaking down music genres for more than 20 years. Next week they will grace the stage as Atoms For Peace at London’s Roundhouse for three sold out nights.

While the all-star ensemble’s performance will be seen by thousands at the venue, millions more will be able to experience it through a pioneering collaboration between the band and live music platform soundhalo.Soundhalo is devised by people who love experiencing live music right from the heart of the crowd. This means they avoid the overproduced experience of a live DVD production; instead celebrating the serendipity of live shows and the rush we all feel seeing great bands in the flesh. The quality of the soundhalo video and audio is of the highest calibre; achieved by recording straight from the stage and delivering it back to the fans as the band want you to hear it, as it happens.
