PRE-EVENT PLAYLIST: Independant Label Market – Glasgow

This Saturday (12th October 2013) provides a retro approach to record sales and a return to the social aspect of music buying with a free event at Barras Art & Design Centre in Glasgow.

Many exclusives have been announced for The Vinyl Factory presents Independent Label Market: Glasgow which will feature an array of record labels selling their goods directly to the public as well as live DJ sets from Belle & Sebastian, Edwyn Collins, JD Twitch (Optimo), Rubadub and Numbers. To keep the masses fed there will also be gourmet food stalls from Smoak and Fire in Babylon.

Special items include signed Mogwai vinyl, exclusive Numbers Tees (a collaboration with FiST), an AED raffle drawn by Edwyn Collins, plus exclusive test pressings, cupcakes, fudge, badges, bottle openers and much more.

The Vinyl Factory and Independent Label Market have put together a 15-track playlist showcasing some of the labels who will be there on the day, including tracks from RM Hubbert, Pictish Trail, Casual Sex, Daniel Avery, Redinho, Django Django and many more.

Creeping Bent // The Creeping Bent Organisation will be selling an exclusive 4 x 7″ ‘Black Label’ series plus Unpopular Culture fanzine, all house in a kool plastic folder. The artists featured on the Black Label 7″ editions are; Sexual Objects, Port Sulphur (feat. Jock Scot & Gareth Sager), How To Swim, Say Jansfield, Found, Future Pilot AKA x Alasdair Gray. Plus various rare artefacts.

Insularis Records // Will be running a raffle with some exclusive prizes on the day. We’ll also have some exclusive Record Store Day releases from the last few years, as well as some limited edition boxsets and other rarities. We’ll also have some beautiful free fudge made by their aunt (The Wee Fudge Company)

Mini 50 // Mini 50 cakes, free winter samplers showcasing all our music both released and future, Hiva Oa and Glacis will be there to sign records .

Number4Door // Baked fudge puddles – one free with each purchase, super limited mixtapes with hand painted covers and copies of two forthcoming releases ahead of their release for sale on the day, bleached tshirts.

Numbers // Exclusive Numbers collab T-Shirt with Glasgow based Artist and Designer FiST, The Tees were screen printed in the BAaD and are only available at the Fair in very limited quantity.

Olive Grove // Exclusive Olive Grove tees and tote bags will be on sale, Olive Grove cakes (cupcakes with the OG logo on top) and free download compilations in origami bird cages. Also Woodenbox will be helping out on the stall
