VIDEO: Get The Blessing – Quiet

1798882_10151910883190756_1091071001_nThe video accompaniment to ‘Quiet’ – the opening track from Get The Blessing’s fourth album Lope and Antilope – depicts what may well be a typical day in the life of the Bristol-based jazz-rock quartet. It is a video in which the parts of Jake McMurchie (saxophone), Pete Judge (trumpet), Jim Barr (bass) and Clive Deamer (drums) are played by four almost identical showroom dummies, each one dressed in matching white shirt, black suit and vaguely sinister orange cellophane headgear. From various vantage points in their home city, the spooky, static presence of these mannequins silently observe the fast-forwarded day unravel before them, the song’s shuffling, woozy ambience momentarily assuming the guise of a soundtrack to some early 70’s British gangster movie. Get Get The Blessing before they get you.

The video to ‘Quiet’ was edited by SJ Esau at Ill Spectre Productions

Lope and Antilope is out now on Naim Records.
