Leon of Athens‘ forthcoming album, Global takes cues from indie pop electro music, evoking folky sounds that are topped with a dose of atmospheric qualities.
The title track sets the tone for the album perfectly; rhythmic electro meets melancholy harmonies, whilst accompanied by the heartfelt vocals voicing sincere lyrics that tackle social awareness right through to the very end.
The city of Athens has been a clear influence on Leon Veremis, whilst writing the ten inspiring songs for his debut album. Reflecting issues such as the current cultural crisis in Greece, Veremis’ direct songwriting catches the vulnerability and essence of his experiences and his country’s meltdown.
