NEWS: more acts announced for Liverpool Psych 2015

Dates: 25th and 26th September 2015
Location: LiverpoolLiv

It may still be some five months until this year’s Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia takes place, but excitement is really starting to grow. Back in February we were all thrilled to hear that Spiritualized were to be the first headline act for 2015. Now we have received even more fantastic news. Joining Jason Pierce and his band of space-rock pioneers in the city’s Camp and Furnace, Blade Factory and District warehouse spaces at the end of September will be a whole host of other psychedelically-minded sonic cosmonauts.

There will be the post-industrial electronic sound of London-based trio, Factory Floor. There will be The Heads, whose name and fuzzy psych-rock are both the perfect fit for this spectacular two-day event as it approaches its fourth year of existence. There will be Hookworms, whose kosmische star is firmly in the ascendancy after the critical acclaim lauded on last year’s album The Hum.

And there will also be Jacco Gardner, Jane Weaver, K-X-P, Joel Gion, Karen Gwyer, Dengue Fever, Carlton Melton, Indian Jewelry, Lumerians and Black Devil Music Club all of whom fit Liverpool Psych’s fundamental criteria for noise exploration and psychedelic adventure.

In yet more fantastic news, it has been revealed that this year’s Artist in Residence will be none other The Brian Jonestown Massacre’s Commander-in-chief Anton Newcombe. A full programme of his activities over the festival weekend will be announced in the coming weeks.
