Clark Kent Ambush Special #7: Ultra Grand Supreme, Mystified, Martin Treanor, Ned Dylan

Ultra Grand Supreme

Ultra Grand Supreme consist of ex members of Daisy Chainsaw, Queen Adreena and the soon to return alt rock behemoth, The Dogbones. Clark Kent a.k.a John Clay interviewed Zack and Vince from Ultra Grand Supreme after their debut gig at Camden’s Dublin Castle. He also caught up with punk rock band Mystified, and the wonderful author Martin Treanor. Be sure to check out the band post-rock band Jelly, without whom the show’s logo would not exist (thank you bassist Vera Wild)! Is that all? Not Quite! Clark Kent was fortunate to watch critically acclaimed experimental stage show LIBERATION!For now you get a teaser on how the cast entertained and educated their audience on the dangers of conformity (using nudity and paint no less).

This channel is updated EVERY Wednesday and Sunday. How does Mr Kent find the time? Well, he’s not doing it all alone … ‘like’ GOD IS IN THE TV on Facebook for up to date interviews and reviews on corners of the music globe that Clark Kent has yet to reach.

Ned Dylan is a 14-year-old acoustic punk artist whose 2015 is looking to be his best year yet. With a track record for leaving lasting impressions on crowds at places such as The Secret Garden Party, Beautiful Days and even Glastonbury with his memorable high energy performances, he’s also received critical acclaim from the likes of Huey Morgan (Fun Loving Criminals), Virtual Festivals and Tom Robinson among others.

Hello readers/viewers! Welcome to the most public FB message thread, ever! May I once again present to you the incredible wide-eyed talent of Ned Dylan!

Greetings Ned! Tell me about your recent festival shenanigans? Any interesting tales to share?

NED DYLAN: I’ve been at Secret Garden Party – one of my favourites. Though they like to think of it more as a party than a festival.

Clark Kent: Any tales to tell or are you bound to secrecy?

ND: I’ve got tales!

CK: Share!

ND: I did loads of gigging: The first one was in a naked sauna of all places with the brilliant Lost Horizons crew. (I wasn’t naked)! The second one (the one I was booked for) was in Small World with my band which was great. The third one was in session on Secret FM (Secret Garden Party’s radio station) with GoldieRocks (DJ/radio host) which was fun. I hadn’t seen GoldieRocks since 2012 and last time she interviewed me she proposed! The fourth was with Beans On Toast and Mike Freear which is always fun. I also interviewed Eddy Temple-Morris which was great. In my opinion he presents one of the best and one of my favourite radio shows – he is also an incredible guy off the air. I also met Miranda Sawyer who was lovely and is a great journalist like yourself! As well as all that I just got to be at SGP which in itself is awesome. Big shoutouts also to the two of the many great charities SGP support – love, support, unite (run by two incredible friends of ours Nina and Alice) and C.A.L.M.

CK: Comprehensive shizzle mate. So, I hope you gave Goldie Rocks an answer?

ND: I gave her an answer three years ago! Still waiting 😉

CK: Hahaha! Last interview we spoke about collaborations. You wanted to work with Kate Tempest who also performed at SGP. Did you get to meet her?

ND: No! Sadly.

CK: Ah, well. There is always Boom Town J I must say, I’m tempted to ask you what the festival experience is like at fourteen? Let’s face it, many aspects of a festival might be off limits to you simply due to your age.

ND: Apart from being sober it’s not really that different. I still go everywhere and do everything I want to do … J

CK: Glad to hear it. Reading your lyrics again recently, I’m left wondering … what are the biggest misconceptions about you as an artist?

ND: 1.) that I must have pushy parents (which I don’t – at all) 2.) And until I started interviewing people, there were some people who didn’t think I wrote my articles J

CK: Does it bother you that they think this way, or do you turn a blind eye?

ND: No, because anybody that’s around me for more than ten minutes tends to get it J

CK: Tell me about Limbo. It’s my fav track! Will it be released as a single? I want details!

ND: I don’t know what will happen to any of the songs. Currently we’re just spreading the word with promo copies as nothing is online right now J I feel like Disco is the more obvious single – we will see. Hopefully (if all goes to plan), there will be a single in the near future.

CK: Do you have a career plan as such? Maybe a loose one? Any milestones you wanna reach at certain ages etc?

ND: I want to be as big as I possibly can without losing credibility or creative control. I want to keep doing what I’m doing (radio, journalism, music) on bigger platforms as I go.

CK: And these aims aren’t restricted by notions of what’s required by age, right? I admire that, as I think working according to what society dictates is harmful. You ought to be watching a cartoon and I ought to be watching the clock in some dead-end office job.

…AND THIS INTERVIEW SHALL CONTINUE NEXT WEEK SUNDAY … KEEP WATCHING …
