NEWS – Iceland Airwaves 2015

Iceland AirwavesSomewhat softening the blow of Bjork‘s cancellation at the 2015 Iceland Airwaves festival comes the news that London’s finest electro-pioneers, Hot Chip, have been confirmed as one of the heavyweights of the event’s Grand Finale.

They join an already impressive roster of rock and pop royalty, the most illustrious of whom include John Grant, Ariel Pink, Beach House, Perfume Genius, Father John Misty, Battles, East India Youth and Sleaford Mods amongst a slew of other exciting acts that range from such seasoned illuminati as dreamy US psychedelia giants Mercury Rev to new precocious young talent like spiky punksters Meat Wave and the startling Mancunian breakthrough act Lonelady.

The event takes place from Wednesday 4th November to Sunday 8th, in Iceland’s beautiful capital, Reykjavik. It is the 16th year of the festival, since its inception in an airplane hangar back in 1999, hence its self explanatory moniker. A diverse line-up, featuring the cream of talent from all around the world, Iceland Airwaves is surely one of the most essential dates on the calendar for any true music lovers.
