NEWS: Low and Super Furry Animals to headline London’s new arts, nature & culture festival

Dates: 6th – 7th August 2016
Location: Fulham Palace, London

Music, literature, beer & nature. All on the banks of the river. Caught By The River are no strangers to festivals, with regular appearances at events like Festival No6, Field Day and Port Eliot. Their latest venture takes them to the nation’s capital, where they will be bringing together literature and music with a love of nature.

Welsh legends Super Furry Animals and captivating Minnesota trio Low have been named as the first headliners of this event. Other musicians performing include GIITTV favourite and former Pipette Gwenno, Ryley Walker, the Sun Ra Arkestra and prize-winning Scottish poet Darren Hayman.

While many festivals emphasise music above writing, here there will be talks and readings on all stages. Faber & Faber will present readings by Faber New Poets, Don Paterson and others in a Victorian chapel. In conversation with Miranda Sawyer, Kate Tempest will read from her forthcoming first novel.

A full line-up for Caught by the River Thames will be announced in the coming weeks. This will include line-ups for stages from the Canal and River Trust, the Idler Academy, the Museum of British Folklore and the Caught by the River Bookshop as well as brewers represented in the Ten Mile Beer Festival and stalls in the global food court.

Tickets will be available from the Caught By The River festival website on Friday 12th February.

God is in the TV is an online music and culture fanzine founded in Cardiff by the editor Bill Cummings in 2003. GIITTV Bill has developed the site with the aid of a team of sub-editors and writers from across Britain, covering a wide range of music from unsigned and independent artists to major releases.
