NEWS: CHVRCHES announce extended edition of ‘Every Open Eye,’ unveil new version of ‘Bury It’ featuring Hayley Williams

Glaswegian electro-pop trio CVRCHES have revealed that they’ll be releasing a special edition of their sophomore album Every Open Eye on 29th July through Virgin EMI.  Alongside featuring the 11 original tracks from the album, there are new tracks included within the package.  These include fresh remixes of the single ‘Leave a Trace’ as well as ‘Empty Threat’ and ‘Clearest Blue,’ while the new songs feature ‘Warning Call,’ the theme some from upcoming game Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst.

There’s also a contribution from Paramore’s Hayley Williams on a reworking of the song ‘Bury It,’ a track Williams has performed with CHVRCHES numerous times on stage.  Listen below.

Williams spoke about the collaboration: “It’s been the coolest getting to know CHVRCHES after having been a fan of the band for a while.”  She continued: “I feel like Lauren and I really worked well together on the song, vocally…  I was surprised how natural it felt!  ‘Bury It’ has such good energy and I really relate to it emotionally as well.  When they asked me to record the parts I had sung live with them, it was a no-brainer.

CHVRCHES frontwoman Lauren Mayberry also talked about the collaboration: “We are all big fans of Paramore – musically, and in terms of the ethos of the band and the way they connect with their fanbase – but I also hugely admire Hayley as a vocalist and lyricist.  It always feels like she puts so much of herself into her music and that’s something we aspire to as well.  Hayley is such a unique voice and having her be a part of something CHVRCHES wrote is incredibly exciting.”

The new version of ‘Bury It’ is available to stream and download now.
