Earlier this year, we spoke to Mark Daman Thomas – otherwise known in his latest guise as Farm Hand – at this year’s Green Man Festival. He told us about a one-off underground performance he had done in a cave that is home to a rare colony of bats.
The video – ‘Noctule’ – has just been released and we’re delighted to be able to share it with you. Beginning with a lengthy shot of green hills and natural beauty of the outside world before being plunged into almost total darkness seems like a good idea – if only to remind you that the outside world a) exists, and b) is stunningly beautiful if you just take a moment to look.
Using a combination of man-made sounds and the cave itself (as well as its bat inhabitants) to craft something truly creative and, in its own way, spectacular.
