Track Of The Day #942: PLAZA – Youth

North East post-indie rockers PLAZA are undeniably destined for great things.  Quickly gaining a reputation as one the UKs most promising live acts, with supports like Rat Boy, JAWS and Genghar under their belt, it’s only a matter of time before everyone’s a PLAZ-ite.   Whether it’s the colossal, chest-beating atmospheres of ‘Blood Orange’ or the bratty, math-induced swagger of early release ‘Totem’ the Hartlepool lads have got all bases of intelligent modern guitar music covered.  ‘Youth’ is their latest release via independent Newcastle label Beyond The Wall and is yet another dreamy rush of adrenaline that yearns for the messiness and confusion of adolescence.  The track’s sparkling guitars will leave you equally elated and alone, veering from minimal to euphoric with frightening ease.  Expect to hear a lot more from this lot very soon.
