London duo Evangeline Ling and Kevin Emre – better known as their moniker The Linedots – shared their last single ‘Small Talk’ a couple of months ago. The track was a bold step forward for the band’s sound, packing a punch with heavier drums and electronic strings that had much more impact than some of their earlier, lo-fi pop demos, such as the ambient ‘Waterfall.’
Ling and Emre are now back with a brand new single called ‘Indigo.’ Yet another string to The Linedots’ bow, ‘Indigo’ sees the pair traversing into slightly more trip hop territory, with an approach that isn’t quite as in your face as ‘Small Talk.’ Once again Ling’s effortlessly cool vocals drift laconically across the slightly tropical synthetic soundscapes weaved below. ‘Indigo’ is a slice of gorgeously downbeat pop.
