NEWS: Safe As Milk Festival announces full line-up

When: 21st-23rd April 2017
Where: Prestatyn, North Wales

Safe As Milk Festival has announced details of the full line up for their inaugural event at the Pontin’s Prestatyn Sands Holiday Park on the north Wales coast come the penultimate weekend in April.

And what exciting news it is too. Joining the previously revealed acts headed by the English folk legend Shirley Collins, Syrian Dabke vocalist and electronica artist Omar Souleyman and the seminal San Francisco experimental art collective The Residents will be a host of other brilliant artists who will include among their incredibly diverse number the outrageous Texan rockers Butthole Surfers – who will be playing their only UK show of this year at Safe As Milk – and the pairing of Detroit techno innovator Jeff Mills with revered Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen who will be performing together in this country for the very first time.

Also making an inaugural performance at Safe As Milk will be Suicide’s Martin Rev will perform for the first time with Craig Leon, the man who produced the eponymous debut album from Suicide back in 1977. Further additions to the bill include Forest Swords, Blanck Mass, Demdike Stare and that most individual of folk musicians Richard Dawson, who will be making a rare outing with a full band alongside Angharad Davies, Rhodri Davies and members of Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs.

In addition to the music, Safe As Milk will be hosting an extensive market place at the festival with a wide range of record shops including Extreme Ultimate Records, Milque & Muhle from Birmingham and Disc-Covery Records; various artist merchandise stalls and exhibitions; as well as providing on site some absolutely top quality food and drink to cater for all tastes.
