Track Of The Day #1018: Lossy & Strangers Are People Too – Microverse

Coming in at a hefty 20 minutes plus, ‘Microverse‘ by Lossy & Strangers Are People Too must be knocking at the door of the longest track of the day to date – if it even qualifies as a track, more of which later. That said, every second of this brooding and entirely eccentric electronic cut is a peach.

Brain-meltingly psychedelic with video to match, what starts as a flighty but agreeably sedate number gradually morphs into a different beast altogether. You may be meditating at the start but by the 15th minute, there is a reasonable chance you’ll have frothed up off the carpet with more excitable intent.

Meant to be consumed both visually and aurally, it pulses along in its own tiny universe in a quite disorientating way. Elegant piano jostles politely with sometimes rather ruder bass and drums.  It’s hard to know if it qualifies merely as a track or something a whole lot bigger. A unique and truly hypnotic creation from singular artists collaborating in pretty spectacular fashion.
