Returning for its 5th consecutive year, Cassette Store Day events will be held throughout the UK on 14th October 2017. Last year saw exclusive releases from big acts such as Pixies, Courtney Barnett and Death Cab For Cutie, and this year promises to expand further, promoting music released via cassette.
This year, Cassette Store Day will be organised by Blak Hand Records in the UK, Burger Records in the USA, Balades Sonores in France, Nasty Wizard Recordings in China and VSI in Japan.
Cassette Store Day aims to bring releases that are usually confined to online distributors back into record stores again, promoting a format that many believed to be long dead. Additionally, this year, official CSD releases will also be available via digital download, so exclusive physical releases won’t be confined to just the physical format.
