PREVIEW: THE GREAT WESTERN FESTIVAL 2019

PREVIEW: THE GREAT WESTERN FESTIVAL 2019

When: 23rd November 2019
Where: Various venues, Glasgow, Scotland

This Saturday (23rd November) sees The Great Western – an exciting new all-day music and arts festival take over multiple venues in Glasgow, and features over 50 live acts including !!! (Chk Chk Chk), Cass McCombs, SAY Award winners Sacred Paws, GIITTV favourites Peaness, and many more.  Songhoy Blues and Warmduscher are no longer appearing at the festival.  Instead Kathryn Joseph and The Yummy Fur will play.

Its aim is to be a “unique day of ‘musical exploration and discovery’” focusing on ‘community spirit’ and celebrating underused and underappreciated spaces in Glasgow’s West End as well as more established venues including The Hug & Pint, Oran Mor, Maryhill Community Central Halls, Burnbank Bowling Club, QMU, and the Mackintosh Queen’s Cross Church.

The festival is also working closely with local restaurants and bars to offer festival-goers the chance to sample some of the finest food and drink.

Tickets are £28 for the whole day, with individual venue tickets also available. For more information on the festival or to purchase tickets, head to http://tgwfest.com.
