MIX: Future Self Exclusive Mini Mix

Over the next few weeks and months of COVID-19 lockdown we are going to entertain you with some exclusive mixes and sessions. In order to promote artists who are losing out due to the current circumstances where tours have been cancelled and their income is down. We urge you to support the artists who are providing us with their time and work by liking their socials, streaming and buying their music. First up we have an exclusive mix from Swedish producer Future Self aka Jan Warner.

Jan Warner started his music career in a Swedish suburb in 1988, learning how to produce electronic music from the ground up on an Amiga 500. He has since produced many styles of music and seen the birth of genres such breakbeat, jungle and drum’n’bass, releasing his first vinyl 12″ in 2001. The year after he played his first DJ gig in South London and has since played a variety of clubs in Europe and the US, as well as promoting clubs and radio stations. He has produced music for Swedish Radio, soundtracks for games and his track ‘Response’ received support from Carl Cox who included it on his Space Ibiza Ten Year anniversary album.

Residing in Bristol since 2010, a string of releases lead up to his debut album Atlas in 2013, which opening track has racked up over 140,000 plays on Spotify to date. A remix album came shortly after, with the Petter B remix of ‘Synthesis’ getting support by amongst others renowned techno DJ Alan Fitzpatrick.

After having kids and taking a break drom the music scene, he is rebooting his music career as Future Self. The Swedish producer is now focused 100% on crafting high-powered house music. The first release ‘It Is What It Is / The Feeling’ is an acid-infused debut EP with Stockholm-based producer Ragnar Atari (Axel Hübinette) which sets the benchmark for things to come.

This exclusive mix showcases a deeper end of the spectrum, featuring five unsigned tracks. Most of these tracks have not been featured before, with exception for Enceladus which was aired on BBC Introducing in February.
