LOCKDOWN LIVE SESSIONS #2: Fraser MacIntyre

LOCKDOWN LIVE SESSIONS #2: Fraser MacIntyre

In the second of our exclusive Lockdown live sessions, Scottish songwriter Fraser MacIntyre delivers a haunting three song mini set of new songs, watch it below.

Fraser MacIntyre is a Glasgow-based songwriter originally hailing from Dunfermline, Fife. His first single – Dance, released on the 20th of March 2020 – was recorded by Andy Monaghan in Frightened Rabbit’s Bridgeton studio.

He says:

I recorded this in my flat, so if you hear any distant screaming in the background it’s likely my upstairs and/or downstairs neighbours exploding with rage. Apologies to them.

Cheers to God Is in the TV for this. I was going to be playing solo for the first time last Thursday (supporting Real Lies in Glasgow) but it was rescheduled for obvious reasons. Glad to be able to share stripped-back versions of a few songs.

I’ll be taking the first (Village Idiot) into the studio fairly soon. The second is a nod to my hometown, and was written a few days after last year’s Outwith Festival in Dunfermline. It’s about how messy finding your feet can become, and the importance of community. A much louder version of the third (Landing Light) will likely find its way onto an EP I’ll be piecing together as soon as I can afford to – complete with cello and Nick Hernandez (Foreignfox, Sunstinger) on drums.”
