Long Division Festival – which takes place in the West Yorkshire city of Wakefield – has announced that they will be postponing this year’s festival from its rescheduled dates in November to June 2021 and have launched a Crowdfunder to raise vital funds to help tide the organisation through the next two years.
Long Division Director, Dean Freeman says:
“Due to us having lost vital income for 2020, we have launched a Crowdfunder campaign. We think there are some great rewards in there that you will like and every pledge at any level gets entered into a prize draw, with a top prize of lifetime entry to Long Division Festival and all affiliated events. We hope you can help us ride out 2020 – if we make it, we’ll be guaranteed not one, but at least two brilliant years of Long Division Festivals and more.”
Whilst no physical event will take place in 2020, Long Division will continue to press on with their extra work including further LD:TV content – Long Division hosted LD:TV over their original June date; it proved to be a hugely successful weekend of new and live streamed content which raised money for a selection of charities and organisations including HOOT Creative Arts, Help Musicians and #WakefieldCares as well as paying the artists who contributed to the event – the return of their vinyl compilation New Additions with Vol. 2 landing in late summer and thanks to Long Division’s various partners and funders, much of the organisation’s community and education will be able to progress in some form this year.
A number of the artists who were scheduled to perform this year will now appear in June 2021 including: The Futureheads, The Lovely Eggs, Beardyman, She Drew The Gun, Brix & The Extricated, Roddy Woomble, Beans On Toast, Lanterns On The Lake, Peggy Sue, Allusinlove, Too Many T’s, Big Joanie & Katie Spencer with many more to be announced.
