The Blog Sound of the year was set up as an alternative poll of emerging musical talent to look forward to in 2012, it was completely compiled through the recommendations of online bloggers alone(full list of which below). This exercise was in no way intended as a platform to criticise or disrespect the Beebs official Sound of , it was more an experiment to see if blogs can come up with some interesting alternatives.
As you can imagine the suggestions for this poll were very wide and varied reflecting the tremendous musical mix UK music blogs cover. Long may they all continue ! Here are the fifteen acts that make up our longlist, and as is traditional these will subsequently be narrowed down, and then later a winner will be crowned!

Lianne La Havas was earmarked for greatness in my book when she covered Everything Everything.
Really like the sound of Friends too. I didn’t think the BBC Sound of poll was too bad this year. A bit urban though, for want of a better collective tag.
Hoping that the Civil Wars get big in 2012.
And that BBC list just to compare:
A$AP Rocky
Azealia Banks
Dot Rotten
Dry The River
Flux Pavilion
Frank Ocean
Friends
Jamie N Commons
Lianne La Havas
Michael Kiwanuka
Niki & The Dove
Ren Harvieu
Skrillex
Spector
Stooshe
You should add iamamiwhoami to your list. Word has it they’ll be releasing their debut album next year.
Here are their releases from 2011:
