Queens of the Stone Age- Rated R [Delux Edition]
07/09/2010 Not usually one to chime in on stuff like this but the similarities between the two reviews are pretty conclusive. I think this review should be taken down.
Aside from being a ridiculous and dishonest thing to do in the first place, it reflects terribly on this site as a whole and detracts from the hard work which both Bill and all the other writers put in to making the site as good as possible without many resources. Not to mention the work of the original p4k writer being diminished by someone else claiming it as their own.

http://www.myspace.com/wkwkwkwkwkwkwkwk - o0o00 - A lot of this witch house stuff is pretty dubious, these guys are awesome though, No Summr4u especially is a tuune.
http://www.myspace.com/tsdole - few listens in the album is sounding great, really delivers on the promise they've showed for so long.
http://www.myspace.com/kingpostkitsch - Loving this guys stuff, Walking on Eggshells in particular is amazing.
Allo Darlin- Singles-Round Up 26/07/2010
01/08/2010 I was listening to Riser whilst cycling this morning...
I think it's a great ep. That difference of opinion aside, good article!
The Last Dinosaur- Hooray! For Happiness
20/07/2010 One of my favourite albums of the year this, it just sounds so lovingly composed. A little bit special for sure.
re: Who do you think will be nominated for this year's Mercury music prize? I don't think it's really clear what the prize is supposed to reflect anymore. It's certainly seemed to have become more mainstream, but I'm not sure thats just the prize as much as its the proliferation of more independent music in to the mainstream arena. I wouldnt say any of the artists on the list are 'too pop', or whatever, but by the same token there's probably about 7 of those names wouldn't look that out of place on a list of Brits nominees given the coverage they've alredy had. Whilst they might essentially be alternative, they've seeped to far in to mainstream consciousness to get any real benefit from a prize like this.
For me, that doesn't seem like a good enough ratio for the prize to be worth while. They either need to be more dedicated to giving a platform to geniunely innovative and unheralded music or they would have been as well just giving it to Ellie Goulding for all the good a list like this will do. All that said though, look what it's done for Elbow's career...If they choose the right winner then I guess the shortlist is a fairly moot point.
re: Who do you think will be nominated for this year's Mercury music prize? Painfully unadventurous list. It's been increasingly so in recent years but this is the worst, god knows how paul weller or dizee rascal made the list. Especially considering Kit Downes is the only real token pick there.
Lots more worthy albums missing though, would have been nice for the likes of Field Music, TNP, LC! FourTet or Meursault to get a nod.
I think there's a chance Mumford might get it just cause everbody seems to love them. The XX probably have it in the bag though, and that's the right choice imo.
GIITTV'S INTRODUCING THE BAND - JULY #1
07/07/2010 I'd strongly reccommend their new ep as well Tim, up on their bandcamp page. They're also stunningly loud live.
Fang Island- Fang Island
02/07/2010 Not a bother Bill, cheers for sorting it.
Aside from that, good album this. Quite justifies the hype around them. Didn't totally get it at first, listened to it whilst walking in the sunshine today tho and it was perfect. ant think of much else like it either.
Fang Island- Fang Island
02/07/2010 The first sentence of that 3rd paragraph seems to have been chopped short, now makes no sense. This has happened to a few of my reviews lately, what's goin on? Formatting issues?
Rich Bennett- On Holiday
02/07/2010 I loved Music for Underwater Supermarkets, really haven't been able to get in to this one though. Like you said, just really quite boring at points, spot on review.
