Back in 2006 a little known band from Colchester were putting out the finest punchy wit this side of Dexy’s Midnight Runners. NeatPeople had it all; the tunes, melody, lyrics and record label to rival any of their peers. Unfortunately, they never really achieved the following, and several years later the band split to relative silence. Britain lost out on some great radio airplay.

Until now! The band have returned, with a few additionals, as Hero & Leander. Comprised of various members from Reading, Essex and Liverpool, they’ve got the national heritage to match their scope – lulling pop songs that bark as much as they bite. The six piece have already drawn comparison to Architecture in Helsinki and Camera Obscura, gaining attention from The Blue Walrus and Knox Road to name a few.

You can listen to and download their lead track “Una” below:

They’ll play The Enterprise, London on June 17th, followed by various festival appearances and their debut EP, which is due for release in the summer.
