A series of short films by Seamus Murphy to accompany each song on PJ Harvey’s ‘Let England Shake’ album will be screened at various festivals in the UK this summer.

The award-winning photographer travelled around England to create 12 short films inspired by themes in Harvey’s new album, with each forming a combination of still and moving imagery.

They record real and spontaneous situations to document England and the English.

The films will be played as a “visual accompaniment” to the album for the first time this summer, at UK festivals like Latitude, The Big Chill and the Reading/Leeds Festivals, aswell as the cinema tent at Glastonbury.

The album itself was released in February this year and entered the UK charts in the top 10.

PJ Harvey’s next single is the album’s title track, and her upcoming UK tour dates are:

September 4th – Glasgow, Royal Concert Hall

September 8th – Manchester, Apollo
