Pope Joan No Longer…

Black Black HillsDue to the gradual changes Pope Joan’s sound has undergone, the band have decided to rename themselves “Black Black Hills”.

Apparently the name change isn’t a reflection of changes concerning the members of the band, but a change in music genre to a much darker electronic sound.

Singer Sammy Aaron Jr. says, “We found that how we sounded and our approach had changed so much that it felt right to change the name. The name Black Black Hills is a better reflection of the way we now sound.”

This new approach is represented by the short film to accompany their Black Black Hills debut single “Celebration”, made by Blac Iconica.
