‘A Comfortable Sleep’ EP is released Sept 16th on My First Records.

Paper Aeroplanes is Sarah Howells and Richard Llewellyn. Their musical partnership began six years ago in small town West Wales and in 2009 they released their debut album “The Day we ran into the Sea” (produced by John Reynolds – Sinéad O’Connor, Damien Dempsey). Described by the BBC’s Adam Walton as “brilliantly crafted and stoked from a bruised heart’s embers”.

The mini-album ‘We Are Ghosts'(self-produced with David Wrench – Beth Orton, Bat for Lashes – on mixing duties) followed earlier this year, with critic Robin Denselow saying “With songs this good, Paper Aeroplanes deserve a far wider audience”. Further support came from Steve Lamaq and BBC Radio 1’s Jen Long. It was also made “Album of the Month” by Maverick Magazine and picked for The Guardian’s F&M playlist – “disarming, breezy pop that’s tinged with melancholy”

Live sessions for Bob Harris and ‘Songs From The Shed’ plus playing with artists as varied as Ron Sexsmith, Ed Sheeran, Marina and the Diamonds and Chris Wood have raised comparisons with Fleetwood Mac, Laura Marling, The Sundays, Gemma Hayes and Hope Sandoval. Talking about the new EP, the band say; “We’ve always tried to stay as close to the truth as possible with our songs. The songs are sometimes cringingly personal to perform live”
