Los Campesinos! new single – ‘Hello Sadness’ out this Friday

LOS CAMPESINOS

‘Hello Sadness’ is the name of Los Campesinos!’s first single (available to buy on iTunes THIS Friday 14th October) to be taken from the album of the same name, which sees the light of day on Wichita on November 14th 2011. Listen to it here

Gareth Campesinos! explains “Hello Sadness is a song of longing, it’s a hand that once held and felt, but now claws and grasps at your own chest. The impressions love leaves, the bleaching caused by someone else’s light and what remains when they’ve left.”

‘Hello Sadness’ (the album) constitutes another step in the Los Campesinos! story, and a turn of the corner. Yes, these 10 tracks cover what we are coming to recognise as core Los Campesinos! concerns – love, loss, heartbreak, football (always football). But this is a record that’s wiser and more focused than its predecessors, confident in its abilities and clear in its aims. Their most lean, direct, coherent, and simultaneously exhilarating and debilitating collection of songs to date.

To celebrate the release the band will play three album launches across three continents (London, New York and Tokyo) and sandwich a small UK jaunt in-between:
