Preaching from the Pews: High Highs

Brooklyn the home of the lo fi and the low slung, well at least in the last year or three. Well now a beguiling three piece High Highs from those heights: might just be set to shift those perceptions. They’ve just released a brand new track ‘Ivy’ (listen below) it’s entwined male vocals shiver in each others arms one on the point of collapsing into falsetto and the other taking the weight: to form a balance. While a wistful understated backdrop of spindling guitar notes, piano ivories dashed and shuffling, rotates rather like one of those prisms that gently bleeds from one colour to the next. ‘Ivy’ then a wondrous track designed for headphones at the dead of night, instantly affecting  causing you to shiver you feel the warm embrace of human contact for the first time, in a long time.
