Wild Belle – aka brother and sister Natalie & Elliot Bergman are out of Chicago. Maybe I’m behind the curve, but while I’m being told they are “hotly tipped”, I’m saying “it’s the first time I’ve come across them”. I’m surprised I like this track so much, it being at first glance so heavily embedded into a reggae / dub / ska groove. But it’s really fresh feeling at the same time, gets my vote for the day.
Apparently they are over here playing some shows around London Fashion Week, but there’s no more details to hand. Boo hiss. A cursory look at their FaceBook reveals that when they are not being Wild Belle, they have taken up cudgels in Tom Tom Club alongside Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth.
