This is the first track from The Flight’s debut EP also titled ‘Hangman’, set for release on 10th March 2013. The Flight are east London production duo Joe Henson and Alexis Smith. They have written and produced for some of the top names in the music industry. The Hangman EP is their first outing as artists in their own right.
The EP consists of 4 diverse tracks which showcase The Flight’s talent and potential. ‘Hangman’ is a modern re-telling of the folk song Pretty Polly. This song is a murder ballad, telling of a young woman tempted away from home into a the forest where she is killed and buried in a shallow grave. The rest of the EP is written from the viewpoint of the murderer, from first meeting the young woman to rueful ghost after his execution.
They plan to release a series of EP’s featuring guest artists, ahead of their debut album sometime in the near future…
