Introducing: The Barne Society 2

Introducing: The Barne Society

An independant Scottish label is beginning to make waves with the upcoming release of a new twelve track compilation entitled The Barne Society, Volume 1. The label itself has been around since 2010, started by Marco Rea & Stu Kidd (aka The Wellgreen) on the outskirts of Glasgow. The new compilation is only their third release having previously released their own album and The Wellgreen/Store Keys split 7″. The label calls themselves a “cottage industry” and it’s probably a good description given their beginnings – in a farmland surrounded barne.
The Barne Society, Volume 1 will bring together the work of Stevie Jackson (Belle and Sebastian), Roy Moller, The Wellgreen, The Junipers, Kontiki Suite, The Red Sands, The Springtime Anchorage and more.

They’ve organised several nights of live music in intimate venues to launch the compilation in Glasgow (April 25th), Bridge of Allan (26th), Edinburgh (27th) and  each with a different line-up of artists from the album.
