Track of The Day #305: The Indelicates – Bitterness Is the Appropriate Response

Fans of The Idelicates will know them for their brand of dark cabaret cum baroque pop, in particular their fine ‘Songs For Swinging Lovers’ from 2010. Well earlier this year, they released their fourth album, ‘Diseases Of England’, which kicks off in a far from laid back style. The first two tracks exert more muscle than they’ve ever conjured up before and boy can they rock out. After that, they slide back into their accustomed style which is, in many ways, a great shame. It remains, however, a fine album, with some great instrumentation and clever lyrics. Today’s track is one of the muscular ones!
