Track Of The Day #333: Crypts – I Fell To Nothing At All

This track works best as a demonstration of performance than song per se, a seven minute hoarding of aural endeavour that is a little bit all over the place, but perhaps most rewarding for being so. Maybe it’s a little sad that the moment I hear such a wall of noise, moving with the shredding of synth and a kick drum like I do in parts of this track that I hear only HEALTH. Or that the mellowing and slightly hypnotic vocals instantly take me to Islet.

It’s a mix I love, but it should be a genre beyond the tags of two bands, and I hope that amongst it all Crypts find a place to call their own. Their album ‘Facts of Sound’ is set to follow this summer.

Crypts are from Manchester.
