Bummer Album of the Week: Sting – The Last Ship

Sting’s new album, The Last Ship is his first set of totally original material for ten years and there’s been no doubting his ability in the past to pen some cracking tunes; from the off-kilter inspiration he gave The Police to the very different sophistication of his solo work. Every reason to anticipate something special in the new set then. Oh dear, oh dear, a cargo of songs about boats sung in a Geordie accent is what we are presented with. Totally uninspired as it happens and therefore Bummer Album of the Week as it happens.
